Ultimate Green Smoothie Bowl
This bowl is the the key to a filling breakfast or afternoon snack. Packed with vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber, you'll taste the natural sweetness of the fruit and the creamy nuttiness from the nut butter. There's nothing "green" tasting about this bowl!
1 cup almond or coconut milk
1 frozen banana, about 4 chunks
3 frozen strawberries
3 frozen mango pieces
1 tbsp almond (or other nut) butter
1 tbsp ground flaxseed
1 handful torn kale (without the tough ribs)
1 handful baby spinach
Start with 1/2 cup almond milk, then add all ingredients in a high powered blender such as a Vitamix. Start at the lowest speed, and slowly increase. If the blender is seizing or the mixture isn't blending well, slowly add the rest of the almond milk. Smoothie bowls should be thicker than regular smoothies, as they're eaten with toppings and a spoon, so I like to keep the milk to a minimum, and only add it until the mixture seems smooth and the ingredients are incorporated.
Pour into a bowl and top with granola, hemp seeds, fresh fruit, and cacao nibs. Enjoy!
